Camp
The Roost is a tranquil tented camp and gathering space in west Arusha.
Just three minutes from Arusha airport (3°23'27.8"S 36°37'51.6"E), it’s the perfect place to pause before your safari begins, or to enjoy a peaceful few moments as your time in Tanzania comes to a close.
The camp sits beside our permaculture farm and includes a pool, several quiet sitting areas, and a simple bar.
We designed The Roost for life outdoors and for days that move a little slower. In the mornings enjoy a coffee under the forest canopy, and let conversations stretch from the pool to the campfire as the sun goes down.
Tents
The Roost has just six tents, tucked beneath the forest canopy for quiet and privacy.
Each tent is spacious and comfortable, with a private bathroom, hot shower, sofa, desk, refrigerator, and coffee & tea station, plus a shaded veranda and porch swing.
Tents can accommodate up to 4 guests in beds.
Simple. Comfortable. Surrounded by nature.
Breakfast
All bookings include in-tent breakfast provisions, ready for you to enjoy at your own pace.
Tea, our own blend of coffee, local yogurt and fruit, and homemade granola and bread.
Farm
The camp sits beside our permaculture demonstration farm, where local farmers learn and experiment with more productive, sustainable systems.
Guests are encouraged to tour the farm and learn about conservation agriculture, organic vegetable production, fish farming, stingless bee keeping, poultry raising, composting, integrated pest management, and more.
